This paper explored the role and effectiveness of outdoor activities in promoting cognitive development in older preschool children. Based on modern educational theory and surveys at two kindergartens in Thanh Hóa, it analyzed key factors influencing cognitive growth, including children’s psychological and cognitive traits, teachers’ organizational skills, and the learning environment and facilities. The findings informed five practical measures to enhance the effectiveness of outdoor education, aiming to support holistic cognitive development and foster active, engaged learning among older preschool children.
