Abstract

The traditional Lunar New Year, also known as Tết Nguyên Đán, is the most important holiday of the year for the Vietnamese people, closely tied to the long-standing traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese community. Tết is not only a festival but also a moment of harmony between nature, humans, and all living things. During this time, the Tết markets, customs, and taboos are vividly depicted. Nguyễn Bính, one of the prominent poets of modern Vietnamese literature, wrote more than ten poems on the themes of spring and Tết. The flavors of Tết in Nguyễn Bính's poetry are not only characteristic images of spring but also symbols of folk culture, deeply reflecting the traditional cultural values of the nation. One can say that the entire atmosphere of the old Tết, with its traditional customs, comes alive in Nguyễn Bính's poetry.
