Vietnam’s 2018 General Education Curriculum emphasizes the comprehensive development of learners’ competencies and qualities through school subjects, with music playing a key role in nurturing emotion, aesthetics, and creative thinking. The electronic keyboard is a common instructional tool in music teaching, especially for activities such as group singing, listening, and musical creation. This paper clarifies the role and effectiveness of this instrument and proposes solutions to enhance electronic keyboard accompaniment skills for music education students at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism in line with the current general education curriculum.
