Traditional wooden architecture is an important component of Vietnam’s tangible cultural heritage, reflecting the community’s technical sophistication, aesthetic mindset, and cultural identity across historical periods. Thanh Hoa Province currently preserves a considerable number of wooden architectural works-communal houses, pagodas, temples, shrines, and ancestral halls-with high artistic and historical value. This paper analyzes selected issues related to traditional wooden architecture in Thanh Hóa, including structural features, construction techniques, artistic styles, and the current state of conservation and use. Drawing on literature review, field surveys, and expert interviews, the study initially identifies the distinctive values of local wooden architecture and proposes orientations for effectively conserving and promoting this heritage in the contemporary context.
