The paper compared the identifying features of personal pronouns in English and Vietnamese, particularly in the context of cultural influence. While English has a relatively stable system of personal pronouns, Vietnamese exhibits a clear hierarchical structure in communication, deeply influenced by cultural factors such as age, social status, familiarity, and regional differences. By analyzing these intercultural differences, the paper clarified the cultural characteristics embedded in linguistic behavior and suggested applications in intercultural communication, translation, and language teaching.
