Abstract

Dang Xuan Trang was a typical figure in the Can Vuong movement in Ha Trung and Thanh Hoa in the late 19th century. He was one of the important leaders of the two major uprisings of Ba Dinh and Hung Linh, with important contributions to maintaining and developing the movement against French colonialism. He stood up to support King Ham Nghi after the promulgation of the Can Vuong Imperial edict , built up forces, organized the uprising and directly participated in many major battles. After his failure at the Ba Dinh base, he continued to build the uprising in Hung Linh and became a symbol of indomitable patriotism. Dang Xuan Trang's legacy still lives in the hearts of the people of Thanh Hoa, becoming a source of inspiration for the next generations in the struggle for national independence.
