The appearance of ChatGPT (November 2022) has brought both excitement and anxiety to educational administrators as more and more teachers and students who consider the use of ChatGPT for pedagogical purposes. This article evaluates the attitudes of students of English language at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism towards using ChatGPT to improve English Speaking skills as well as students' perceptions of the benefits and disadvantages of ChatGPT. The study also provides suggestions on the significance of using ChatGPT in teaching English Speaking skills, suggesting future teaching and research directions.
