FREE SPEECH ON THE INTERNET UNDER THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW AND SOME LESSONS LEARNED IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Free speech is a legitimate right, a genuine aspiration and a practical human need. The guarantee of Free speech is one of the measures showing the civilization and preeminence of a modern society. Accordingly, the Internet with its strength as a global information connection network becomes the most effective means for realizing the right of free speech. However, free speech is not non-compliant with the law. The paper studied free speech on the Internet under the perspective of International Law as a standard legal corridor for Vietnam to apply and develop in the multilaterally integrated economy.
