ABOUT THE 20TH CENTURY MUSIC IN SOME CLASSICAL GUITAR WORKS FOLLOWING THE TREND OF FOLK MUSIC

Abstract

From the end of the nineteenth century to the twentieth century, the art of classical guitar in the world developed strongly both in composition and performance, reflecting the reality of life, society and people of the times. The 20th century guitar works have reached a high level of performance in concertos and symphony orchestras and are mandatory works in international guitar competitions. The article presents some thoughts on twentieth century music through guitar works of composer Joaquin Rodrigo Vidre (1901 - 1999) and Heitor Villa - Lobos (1887 - 1959).
