Abstract

The policy of the Vietnamese state in economic development in the agricultural aspect is influenced by the Green Revolution which absoluteizes the role of science and technology (in order to build up industrialization-oriented agricultural production establishments. The above agricultural development has achieved some remarkable achievements, but it also causes certain negative consequences for people's livelihoods. These consequences are shown very clearly for farmers in the resettlement area when they are separated from their familiar living environment. Thus, a case study of people living in hydroelectric lakebed at a resetttlement area in Lai Chau has been done for this.
